Service Description

Help alleviate your clients’ lower back problems with some new techniques to get at that problematic piriformis muscle. The piriformis is one of six external hip rotator muscles. It is oftentimes the culprit behind sciatica. The piriformis muscle is hidden under the glutes and hard to get at. We will address finding it and treating it while respecting the client’s boundaries and making them feel at ease. What about the internal hip rotators? So many jobs require long hours of sitting that the ilio-psoas can get taut as well. Again, the ilio-psoas is also a hard muscle to get at and as such it is often neglected. We will share some techniques for opening the front hip. Drawing from Thai massage, traditional massage, martial arts, and yoga, we will learn techniques that can add variety to your bodywork sessions. We will cover the appropriate draping as well.
